The Tri-drive mechanism

This mechanism in:
  1. horizontal orientation can be use as the tri-star wheel set. Rolling mode is used on a flat surface, acting as any normal wheeled vehicle.
    Climbing mode is useful, when encounters enough resistance to start climbing.
  2. vertical orientation can be use as base for whirligig toy, rotating around own axis.
This set has a concentric drive arrangement to provide separate power for both rolling and stepping modes of operation. In this set Technic Beam 1 x 5 Thin with Axle Holes on Ends is used. However manipulating with length of this Beam | Liftarm you can adjust the length of the arm.

The Morse code

Impressed by tilted twister robots by Hans Andersson. I decide to work on my own project. The main goal was to make it easy to translate dots and lines into a simple mechanism that any LeJOS fan can build.

All that this person should do is upload using the EV3 Control Center a properly named file with specific states for the selected engine:


This uploaded file(s) should be have, plain text content with one number in each line. First line is dedicated to set interval of motor rotation. Second line and next lines is for set zero /0/ or one /1/ to change motor state.

Conveyor belt with gantry

You can use this model with my rail trolley. But for better interaction with touch sensor you should add bumper between frame and black axle.
For this purpose, I created instruction, you can see on the right. For bigger version -- click on it.

Remember that motor connected to Port A support the direction of movement of the conveyor belt.

Changing the direction of the motor connected to port B is forced alternately by activating the touch sensor.

EV3 Brick assigned ports:
  :: Port 1 for ultrasonic sensor
  :: Port 2 for touch sensor
  :: Port 3 for touch sensor
  :: Port A for medium motor
  :: Port B for medium motor

Self-ropelled Rail Trolley

This machine is dedicated to, move on toothed bar or elements with rack, like this one:

The base element, that everything is building on is Technic Liftarm 5 x 11 Open Center Frame Thick
Thanks to the size of  used micromotor; I can build more lighter model and have more free space inside the frame.
